Cream Cheese Pumpkin Pasties Recipe - Our Kerrazy Adventure (2024)

These Cream Cheese Pumpkin Pasties are a perfect fall treat! They are really easy, especially if you pick up some refrigerated pie crust. And they are a must if your family loves Harry Potter. A few years I made some Pumpkin Pasties for my son’s Harry Potter Party. And I loved having food from the Hogwarts Express, but honestly I didn’t like the pumpkin pasties even though they were from Harry Potter. They weren’t nearly as sweet as I imagined. Too pumpkin-y.

That’s when I decided I would make my own and I would add some cream cheese and sugar to sweeten things up. And to save time I opted to use some refrigerated pie crust. This time of year life can be so busy! And with all the fall parties and get together’s it’s nice to be able to throw together a fun and easy thing to bring. Your kids could even make these they are so simple.

In case you’re a muggle (non magic folk) let me give you a little back story. Harry Potter finds himself on a train to a school for wizards. He’s so excited when the snack trolley comes around because he recently found out his parents left him some money. But he can’t find Mars bars or other normal treats. This trolley is full of wizard treats so he decides to try them all. Especially when he notices his new friend doesn’t have the funds to buy anything off the cart. He knows how it feels to not have any money. Harry and Ron spend the next few hours eating and laughing together, as Ron tells him all about the wizarding world.

Right now I’m reading Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone with my daughter. We are almost at the Hogwarts Express chapter which would be the perfect time to make these again. I love when I can help books come alive by involving them in our everyday lives. What better way to connect with Harry than to make and eat these yummy pumpkin pasties. And if you haven’t seen the 3rd illustrated book click on over and check it out. I love reading the illustrated version with my younger two.

Your kids will love stamping the pie crust and filling the little pies. I might have been a bit too generous with my filling. (You may notice my filling is bursting at the seams) What can I say? I’m just a giving person. At first when I was creating this recipe I wasn’t sure if I would have enough filling for two packages of dough. But if you portion your filling a little less than what is pictured below it will turn out perfect. These make about 30 mini pies so you will have plenty to share. My son had some friends over when I made these and they were more than happy to eat a few. I may of had to cut them off at one point since dinner time was approaching.
