This is the bestBeef and Broccoli Stir Fry is an easy beef dinner that tastes like you ordered take out! And this healthy recipe is done in under 30 minutes. Heck, under 20! It’s only 150 calories per serving. Serve it over rice or over cauliflower rice if you’re watching your carbs.
Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry
Hey guys! I know it’s been a minute. I was enjoying Christmas break with my family and taking a much needed break.
I have had kids home all day, every day which I love. I decided a long time ago that my kids come first and when I’m with them I want to be present.
I only work on my blog at night when they’re asleep. Literally every night from 8-12pm.
So as you can imagine, in December when I have a ton of projects going on the nights get later and later. I don’t think I went to bed before 1 Am the entire month of December.
I’m so happy to be back in the kitchen. The creative process is so good for my soul. So is the beach. Which I hit a couple of times during break.
You may have noticed that they aren’t that many Asian recipes on my blog. Not on purpose.
We just don’t have any good Asian food by us and my kids are pretty new to the whole idea.
My kids love this tender Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry. I would definitely say broccoli is the one vegetable that all my kids don’t complain about. Stir fry recipes are a great way to incorporate your favorite vegetables.
The sauce is a little sweet, a little savory. You can add red pepper if you like it spicy.
The one thing that can ruin any beef and broccoli stir fry recipe is when you have chewy meat. So make you you have a high quality meat and you’re good to go!

Instructions
For Beef Coating: In a large bowl, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water and garlic powder until smooth.
Add the beef and toss well to coat. Set aside.
In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon oil until beef reaches desired doneness; Remove beef mixture from the pan.

Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sauce has thickened.
Serve over white or brown rice. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Add additional soy sauce on top of servings if you want. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
Notes
Sesame oil adds that authentic flavor but is not required.

This was good! But I totally thought I ruined it at first – I thought I would be fancy and use my non stick wok. I cooked on med-high heat with the oil but the cornstarch sort of stuck to the bottom – and then it then started to burn! I turned down the wok, but no change. So I transferred the onion, broccoli to a regular non-stick pan and finished it there – it still turned out great! Probably the pan (or the user!)

Love this recipe. Aside from just using the recipe to the letter, I also get creative and use the stir fry sauce with whatever protein and veg I have in the fridge… this week it was chicken, broccoli, pepper and mushroom stir fry!

I’m confused as to why the water and cornstarch in the beef coating is “divided”. Maybe I’m missing something?!
I think I would throw in some water chestnuts next time but otherwise, very tasty.

It’s 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. 2 in the beef coating and 1 in the later recipe.

I just happen to have boneless Pork ribs on hand, can I use them in this, and how long would I cook them? They are small enough to cut into pieces

I have no idea how I would cook those. Sorry!
